Concentration difficulties

Children and adolescents with difficulty in concentrating have difficulties concentrating and paying attention. The children are perceived as not listening to requests or instructions. This is not because the child does not understand or disregards what is said, rather that they are unable to keep the attention long enough to gain or absorb the information.

In attention to detail, for example, results in making careless mistakes in school work and similar tasks. Forgetfulness and losing important things are often a problem. It may be that one forgets to bring books, clothes or keys needed for a later activity. It is difficult to plan and organize so that everyday life and school works.

Concentration ability often varies greatly. Unless the subject or activity is exciting enough, their concentration is often only enough for a short time. It's hard to keep focus and not be distracted by something else in their surroundings.
