School

Doubt and uncertainty can force the teacher having to constantly help and answer the child's questions. Rituals, fixation and compulsion can affect sleep and school work. It can also be difficult to catch up with friends. Children with OCD often have to work hard to cope with the school environment.

Is it recommended to be open about children suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder? That is a question for the parent/caregiver to decide what is in the best interest of the child. It may be important to inform the school about the child's problems and needs so that the necessary adjustments can be made.
