Stereotypical behaviours

Stereotypical behaviour means that similar, monotonous things are done.

Children with Asperger syndrome have different types of recurring behaviours that do not seem appropriate but which they fixate on. They are usually afraid of change and want recurring routines. They often react strongly to different sensory impressions. They often notice details that fascinate them immensely. They often fix on some special interest that takes a great deal of their time.
