Stereotypical behaviours

Stereotypical behaviours mean that identical, monotonous actions are taken.

Children with autism have different types of recurring behaviours that do not seem logical in the situation, but to which they are fixed. They are usually afraid of change and want recurring routines. The children often develop unusual movement patterns, like swinging, rocking or tiptoeing, spinning and waving.
